SO, it was great, awesome, however it was lacking from how amazing the book itself was. I realize they had to fit such a huge amount into a 2 hour long movie and it makes sense as to why some of the smaller scenes from the book were not present. However it took away from the struggle we saw in Wanda in the book, her confusion and such as she tried to push Melanie away to begin with, so that was a little sad to see gone. Ian to me seemed to be too nice too fast, again they had to shove everything they could into it so that was probably why that relationship seemed to just come out suddenly. The ending, Im going to have to reread it but I dont think thats how it was…it was similar however not the same lol I loved it though, it was made well and i just wish we got to meet those other cave dwellers as we did in the book, and see more action when they left the cave to get things with melanie/wanda. All in all, good movie, was missing alot of small stuff.
I might add that those small scenes were very important to the message of the story that was told in the book and i think the main story was almost lost, the way it made you feel, the truth the book gave you was something everyone should know and feel and it just was a bit empty in the movie version. The message was there, just…quiet
